Starting a small business in Haryana (2026): costs, wages, rent, licences
Haryana is two economies: Gurugram/Faridabad behave like Delhi (high rents, digital, corporate demand), while Hisar, Jind and the west are farm-cash towns whose shop sales swing with wheat and paddy procurement. The April 2026 wage revision (~35%) lifted the unskilled floor to ₹15,221, close to Delhi. Since Feb 2026 small shops (<20 employees) only file an online intimation under the S&E Act, one of the lightest regimes in India. No professional tax. Risks are highway blockades by farmer protests, NCR smog curbs and occasional communal flare-ups (Nuh 2023).
